Love is a 4-Letter Word
About
Dr. Keturah Cooper
Dr. Cooper is a native Michigander. Traveling, fine dining and spending time with family and friends are listed amongst her favorite things to do. She is a proud christian and an easy listener, who freely gives and welcomes kind words and encouragement.
Anyone who has experienced love, lust, heartbreak or longing will find a relatable poem within these pages. There is kindling for personal transformation and sparks for generational conversation. Some poems may be heavier spiced than others, but all are palatable and tastefully presented.
The poems encompass a variety of love: spiritual, familial and romantic. They range from short and sweet to lengthier compositions. Being vulnerable to love sometimes opens us up to heartbreak other times we triumph. The foundation of life is love. Love itself is deserving.
I Love a Man with Big Hands
I love a man with big hands,
hands that are strong but gentle.
Strong enough to wipe my tears
at the end of a hard day,
without pity or seeing them as a sign of weakness.
Gentle enough that the caresses provide
the energy and resilience to recover for another day.
Big hands that anoint my scalp with oil,
while gently teasing out the knots of my curly, coily hair.
Strong hands that knead the tense muscles of my neck,
gently restoring them to their prestressed place,
Hands that run up and down my spine.
Refreshing
Like calm, cool streams pooling in my low back.
Rinsing away the remnants of fatigue
stubbornly stained in the tautness of my lumbar.
Big, strong hands that find their home at my hips.
Anchoring us together.
Gently guiding for us to become one.
Strong
yet Gentle
Strong
yet Gentle
Strong

Loving Me
Pleasing Me
with every plunge of affection.
Big, strong hands that cradle and caress
holding close while gently adorning this sun-kissed skin with your own.
Strong hands that celebrate me
and protectively claim me as only you can yet
gentle enough to provide complete and total freedom.
Freedom that causes my spirit to soar.
Singing like a canary.
A caged bird, with an open door.
Choosing to stay because all my needs are met.
Big, strong hands that cover mine
as you pray.
Thanking the Lord above for me,
asking to be shown how to love me
a little bit better each day.
God, Please Bless Me with a Man with Big Hands

I Pray for a Man with Big Hands

Thank you God, for Blessing Me with a Man with Big Hands
